현대에 있어 이미지와 텍스트의 조형성과 알레고리의 관계 연구

Abstract

현대의 정보전달 방식이 읽는 것에서 보는 것으로 이동해가고 있는 오늘날 조형예술에서 일어나고 있는 눈에 띄는 새로운 경향은 의미를 전달하는데 있어서 이미지의 역할은 점점 커지는 반면 텍스트는 점점 감소하거나 해체된다는 것이다. 이러한 경향은 문자의 혼합과 해체, 이미지의 중첩과 해체, 그리드의 파괴, 불협화음과 부조화, 형태의 왜곡과 단편화, 병렬배치 등의 양상으로 나타나고 있다. 이러한 특징들은 ‘무엇을 어떻게 보느냐’로 유도된다.알레고리의 목적은 표현이 지시하는 의미의 ‘애매성’을 통하여 ‘다의미Polysemien’를 동시에 나타내는 것이라고 할 수 있는데, 여기서 주목되는 바는 알레고리에서의 의미지시 방식이 표현의 직접성에서는 내용과 형식이 ’불일치‘를 이루며, 양자의 결합은 단지 ’관념적‘으로만 이루어진다는 것이다. 이는 고전적 예술의 핵심을 이루는 ’상징‘과 '미'를 거부하는 해체주의적 예술상황에서 새로운 수사법에 대한 요구와 함께 알레고리에 본질적으로 내포되어 있는 부정성(비규정성)과 애매성의 특성이 보다 첨예화되어 재활성화 된다. 문자와 형상이미지, 문자와 사물간의 병존과 그 사이에서 일어날 수 있는 번역의 가능성은 예술 내적인 상황으로서 시각언어를 해체하고 확장시킬 뿐만 아니라, 예술 외적인 모든 상황으로도 확대된다. 즉 현대에 있어서 시각미술은 소통을 지향하기보다는 조형성의 극대화를 통한 해석의 다양성을 보다 더 추구하고 있는 상황이다. 현대 타이포그래피에 나타나는 해체주의 경향과 설득적 수사어법의 하나로 새롭게 나타나고 있는 알레고리의 관계 규명 및 알레고리적인 표현의 커뮤니케이션 기능 및 조형적 기능이 어떻게 부각되는지를 규명하고자 한다.

The way of communication has been changing from reading to seeing in today, the remarkable tendency of visual art in view of meaning transmission is that the image plays important role while the role of text is on the decrease or deconstruction. This kind of tendency takes on aspect with literal dithering and deactivation, overlap of image and deactivation, destruction of grid, discord and unbalance, distortion of form and short piece, juxtaposition etc... These characteristics are derived from how see what? The purpose of allegory could be explained expression of ‘Polysemien’ through the opacity of meaning of what expression indicates, the noticeable things in here that the method of meaning direction in Allegory brings ‘inconsistency’ to between contents and form but combination of both is just made ideally. This requires new rhetoric method in art situation of deconstruction which refuse ‘symbol’ and ‘beauty’ of traditional art, and also the special quality of indefiniteness(non-regulation) contained essentially in allegory becomes of more acute and re-vitality.The possibility of translation that can happen in between text and form image and in between text and things can deconstruct and enlarge the visual language as inner circumstance of art and also be expanded into all external circumstances of art. That is, visual art in today is seeking variety of analysis through maximization of formative art more rather than communication. I wish to examine closely communication function of expression in allegory and the deconstructual tendency and relation of allegory that is appearing in modern typography.
