가상현실(VR)을 활용한 사용성 평가에 관한 연구

Abstract

20세기 말부터 제품 사용성의 중요성이 부각되면서 선진외국 업체들은 수십 년 전부터 사용성에 관한 전단 팀을 만들어 사용성에 대한 연구를 해 오고 있으며 자사 제품의 차별화 된 편리성을 위해서 막대한 비용을 지출하고 있다. 제품의 사용성이란 사용자가 사용하기 편리한 제품으로 사용자중심의 물건을 만드는 것을 의미하며, 기존의 기업들이 행하고 있는 사용성 평가 방법은 사용자들을 실험실에 직접 불러와서 실제의 제품을 사용하게 해보고 그 제품에 대한 문제점을 파악해 보고 있다. 하지만 이 방법은 실험에 대한 구축비용과, 거주지가 다른 사용자들을 실험실로 불러들여야 하는 문제점과, 사용자들이 실험실에서 부자연스러운 사용성 평가결과를 도출할 수 있는 가능성이 높다. 본 연구에서는 이런한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 가상현실을 이용한 사용성 평가 방법을 실시하여 사용성 평가 측면에서의 가상현실을 이용한 방법이 기존의 실제 제품이나 워킹목업을 사용하는 것과 동일한 효과를 낼 수 있는 효율적인 방법이라는 것을 알아보려고 한다.

As the importance of product usability has been highlighted since the end of 20th century. the advanced foreign enterprises have made teams in charge of usability and researched the usability in a dozen yeas. And, they paid huge cost for convenience differentiated in their own products. The usability in products means that a user makes user-oriented articles with the convenient products that the user can consume. As to the evaluation methodology of usability that the existing enterprises have executed, it is to make uers come in laboratory directly, and use the products. However, this method has a lot of construction expenses in experiment, problems that it needs to call the users in different residences in laboratory, and possibilities that the users can reach the evaluation result of unnatural usability in the laboratory. To solve such problems this study is to investigate that the method of using virtual reality in ways of evaluation of usability can be effective way in same effect with the use of existing actual products or working mockup, by executing evaluation method of usability using vitual reality.
