해체주의 시각에 기반한 텍스트 기반 매체의 표현 방식에 대한 연구 - 존 케이지의 강연문 ˂Lecture on Nothing˃을 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 자크 데리다가 주장한 해체주의 관점을 기반으로 존 케이지의 강연문 < Lecture on Nothing >을 해석하는 것이다. 그의 해체주의적 관점을 산종(dissemination), 차연(differance), 흔적(trace), 안과 밖(parergon)이라는 네 가지의 개념으로 정리한 후 연구한 결과, 첫째, 규정된 내용과 형식을 벗어나 의미를 확장하는 ‘산종’의 개념과, 둘째, 텍스트의 기의와 시공간적 요소가 충돌하고, 빈 공간이 독자들의 각자의 경험에 의해 지연되고 보충되는 ‘차연’의 방식이 글 안에 내재되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한 셋째, 내용과 형식의 반복 과정은 ‘흔적’의 개념을 내포하며, 넷째, 구조라는 형식의 경계를 상쇄시키고 의미작용을 상승시키는 ‘안과 밖’의 개념이 드러나 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 논문은 케이지의 강연문을 통해 그동안 시도되지 않았던 해체주의적 표현 방식들을 고찰함으로써 텍스트 기반의 매체의 새로운 커뮤니케이션 방식의 가능성을 보여주었다는 데에 의의가 있다. This paper’s purpose is to interpretate John Cage’s lecture < Lecture on Nothing > based on Deconstructivism, claimed by Jacques Derrida. Derrida’s Deconstructivism can be organized into 4 concepts, dissemination, differance, trace, and parergon. After study, in Cage’s lecture, first, dissemination is inherent in expanding the meaning as getting out of pre-existing content and formality’s structure. Second, differance’s way, which is deferred and supplemented by each reader’s experience, is inherent in empty space and process of collision by text’s signifie and the element of time and space. Third, ‘nothing’s meaning and form’s repeating process connote the concept of ‘trace’ that can’t define its origin. Fourth, the concept called parergon, which offsets the border of the form called structure and increases meaning, is appearing in this lecture. This paper is significant since it presents potentiality of new communication method that was based on text method by considering Deconstructivism expression methods, which was not attempted yet, through Cage’s lecture.
