Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the effect of empowerment on organizational commitment in sports organization through meta–analysis. For the analysis of data, 18 studies using empowerment and organizational commitment in sports organizations were selected and analyzed through CMA2(Comprehensive Meta Analysis). The results of the study are as follows. First, the total effect size of empowerment on organizational commitment in sports organization was confirmed to be as high as .420. And the sub-factor of empowerment were identified as meaningfulness(.442), competence(.423), impact(.411), and self-determination(.402). Second, in organizational commitment, effect size was analyzed in order of affective commitment(.456), normative commitment(.418), and continuous commitment(.373). Third, in the effect of type by empowerment on organizational commitment, the practical organization was higher than the athletic team and leaders. Lastly, results found significant moderating evidence for ratio of male. Based on the results of this study, it is meaningful to provide basic data to operate sport organizations that can apply empowerment and organizational commitment.
