Abstract
This study intends to understand effects of 8 weeks Impact Bag training on golf driver shot. The subjects of this study were 8 amateur golfers registered in Korea Collegiate Golf Association. They were divided into two groups of experimental group of four and control group of four, and compared and analyzed by measuring Head Speed, Ball Speed, Back Spin, Ball Path, Carry before and after 8 weeks training. Collected data were performed of subordinate T-test and independent T-test to achieve the following results. 1) Head Speed of control group had no significant differences before and after the training(p>.05), and experimental group also had no significant differences before and after the training(p>.05). In difference test between experimental group and control group after the training, there were also no significant differences. (p>.05) 2) Ball speed of control group had no significant differences before and after the training (p>.05), but experimental group had significant differences before and after the training (p<.05). In difference test between experimental group and control group after the training, there were no significant differences(p>.05). 3) Back Spin of control group before and after the training had no significant differences (p>.05), and experimental group also had no significant differences before and after the training(p>.05). In difference test between experimental group and control group after the training, there were also no significant differences. (p>.05) 4) Ball path of control group before and after the training had no significant differences (p>.05), and experimental group also had no significant differences before and after the training(p>.05). In difference test between experimental group and control group after the training, there were also no significant differences. (p>.05) 5) Carry of control group before and after the training had no significant differences (p>.05), and experimental group also had no significant differences before and after the training(p>.05). In difference test between experimental group and control group after the training, there were also no significant differences. (p>.05) As the results of this study, it was found out that Impact Bag training had no effect on improvement of Head Speed, Back Spin, Ball Path, Carry except Ball Speed. With the results, it is judged that improvement of carry and accuracy of driver shot by only using Impact Bag training aid cannot be expected. It is thought that true improvement in carry and accuracy of golf can be achieved when physical elements of body’s various joints and muscles and various technical elements of golf swing along with combining elements of psychological elements to maintain these continuously should be trained in harmony rather than emphasizing on one element.
