Abstract
Today there is a great interest and research on the huge structure and high rise buildings due to the development in structural technology and materials. Also, the interest in the environmental issues are heightened that there is an active researches in reduction of CO2 in every industrial fields. As a part of these researches, there is also significant increase in interests for optimized architecture. In this study, I have made a basic model of steel structure to yield the optimization system by using the lateral force resistances currently used in high rise buildings today. I have identified the minimum weight system while maintaining the iso-lateral position of the structure for each system and I was able to confirm the significant reduction in weight when compared against the basic design. As a result of this study, I estimate that through the optimized design of a structure to reduce the construction material and cost with which I would be able to offer a possibility to reduce the CO2 emission.
