윤태호 웹툰의 스토리텔링 전략 연구

Abstract

본고는 윤태호 웹툰의 스토리텔링 전략을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 윤태호 웹툰은 작품의 완성도는 물론 대중성 면에서도 폭넓은 지지를 받고 있으며, 특히 최고의 원천콘텐츠로서 각광을 받고 있다. 윤태호 웹툰은 언어와 표현의 개방적 흡수, 감각적 표현의 전략적 변용, 플랫폼 특성의 창발적 수렴 등을 통한 역동적 실천의 결과다. 이러한 역동적 실천의 근간에는 남다른 시선으로 자아와 세계의 상호 의혹과 성찰을 요구하는 윤태호 특유의 스토리텔링 전략이 있다. 윤태호 웹툰의 스토리텔링의 가장 큰 미덕은 그의 작품이 인간에 대한 ‘따듯한 의혹’에서 출발하고 있다는 점이다. 그의 스토리텔링은 누구나 갖고 있는 결함과 모순을 있는 그대로 인정함으로써 얻을 수 있는 인간에 대한 이해와 세계에 대한 통찰이기에 폭넓은 공감을 낳는다. 그는 각각의 작품에서 독립적인 소재와 주제를 구현하고 있지만, 그 중심동력은 현재성 강한 캐릭터와 중층구조와 치밀한 서사전개 안에 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 윤태호 웹툰의 스토리텔링 전략을 1) 총체적 조망을 위한 탐색과 성찰, 2) 이율배반의 중층구조, 3) 현재성 강한 캐릭터 중심의 서사 확장성을 중심으로 탐색하였다. 이러한 탐색을 통해 윤태호 웹툰의 스토리텔링이 구사해온 새로운 소재와 영역에 대한 역동적인 개방성의 구체적인 양상을 파악할 수 있었다. This article is to identify the storytelling strategy of Yoon Taeho. Yoon Taeho Webtoon has received wide support from the public as well as the completeness of the work, and is receiving the spotlight as the best original contents. Yoon Taeho webtoon is the result of dynamic practice through the absorption of language and expression, the strategic transformation of sensory expression, and the emergent convergence of platform characteristics. The basis of this dynamic practice is Yoon Taeho’s unique storytelling strategy that calls for mutual suspicion and reflection of the self and the world with a special eye. Yoon Taeho The greatest virtue of the storytelling of Webtoon is that his work is starting from ‘warm suspicion’ about human being. His storytelling creates a wide sense of empathy because it is an understanding of human beings and insight into the world that can be gained by recognizing flaws and contradictions as they are. He embodies independent subjects and themes in each of his works, its central force is in the elaborate narrative development of the strong-nowness character and a dual structure. Thus, this article have explored the storytelling strategies of Yoon Taeho’s webtoon focusing on 1) observation and examination for overall prospect, 2) antinomic dual structure, 3) narrative extensibility with strong-nowness character. Through this research, it was possible to grasp the concrete aspects of dynamic openness to new material and realm that storytelling by Yoon Taeho Webtoon has used.
