영원한 노마드의 연기된 최적화 - 강도하의 청춘 3부작 스토리텔링 전략을 중심으로 -

Abstract

본고는 강도하 ‘청춘 3부작’, 즉,〈위대한 캣츠비〉, 〈로맨스 킬러〉, 〈큐브릭〉의 스토리텔링 전략을 규명하기 위한 것이다. 강도하는 웹툰문법을 가장 적극적으로 탐구해온 작가이며, 주변 장르와 개방적 대화를 지속적으로 시도함으로써 웹툰의 영역을 확장하는데 결정적 기여를 한 작가이다. 이런 맥락에서 청춘 3부작은 강도하 스토리텔링의 원천이며 동시에 웹툰문법을 탐구하는 기록이기 때문에 무엇보다 중요하다. 강도하의 스토리텔링 전략은 대중적으로 익숙한 소재를 자신만의 스토리 안에서 낯설게 조합하여 재맥락화함으로써 새로운 울림을 만들어낸다는 점, 상호텍스트성의 전략적 활용한다는 점, 주변 장르의 문법을 웹툰으로 수렴하여 차별화 및 최적화하려는 시도를 끊임없이 전개한다는 점, 웹툰 고유의 시학(詩學)을 지속적으로 궁구한 점 등에서 주목할 수 있다. 무엇보다 매 작품마다 전작들과 차별화하기 위한 도발적인 시도와 극복의 노력을 통해 자신만의 스토리월드를 추구해왔다는 점이다. 본고에서는 1) 익숙한 모티브의 낯선 조합과 겹삼각의 상호 간섭, 2) 상호텍스트성의 전면화, 3) 감각과 메타포의 대화성, 4) 연작이란 이름의 탐구로 나누어 탐색할 것이다. This article is to clarify Kang Doha’s storytelling strategy of 'The Three Trilogy of Youth', ie, 〈Great Cattsby〉, 〈Romance Killer〉, and 〈Kubrick〉. He is the author who has been the most active explorer of the Webtoon grammar, and has contributed decisively to expanding the area of W ebtoon by continuously trying open conversation with surrounding genre. In this context, The Three Trilogy of Youth is a source of storytelling of Kang Doha, and at the same time, it is important because it is a record to explore the grammar of the webtoon. The storytelling strategy of Kang Doha can be noteworthy in terms of creating a new sound by recontextualization with combining the familiar materials unfamiliarly in his own story, utilizing intertextuality strategically, constantly performing differentiation and optimization of the grammar of the surrounding genre into webtoon and investigating the study of the poetics in webtoon. Above all, he has pursued his own story world through his provocative attempts to cope with each work and his efforts to overcome each. This article will explore 1) unfamiliar combinations of familiar motifs and mutual interference of double triangles, 2) present of intertextuality, 3) interactivity of senses and metaphors, and 4) exploration of names of series.
