법령집 ‘御触書集成’에 나타난 에도막부의 ‘인삼’ 정책

Abstract

1733년 류큐왕국 평정소 기록에 나타난 인삼의 사용사례를 계기로 1700년 전후 일본 사회에서 인삼이 어떻게 유통되고 소비되었는지 인삼의 종류는 무엇인지를 『御触書集成』를 중심으로 살펴 본 논문이다. 일반에게 알릴 필요가 있는 ‘일반 고시문’적인 성격이 있는 법령을 ‘오후레(御触)’라고 칭하고 129년간의 ‘오후레’ 3,550통을 주제별로 50권, 목록 1편으로 분류 정리하여 1744년 법전으로 완성하였다. 이후 4차에 걸쳐 에도시대기간 동안 편찬되었는데 본 논문에서는 『간포 집성』(寛保集成), 1760년(호레기 10년) 9대장군 이에하루 취임 초에 편찬된 『호레기 집성』(宝暦集成)에 나타난 법령을 분석하여 당시 일본의 재래종 인삼, 당인삼, 조선인삼, 그리고 1738년이후에는 일본에서 재배한 조선종인삼 크게 4종류의 인삼이 유통되었으며 인삼 의 수요층에 여성이 있었다는 점을 밝히고 인삼이 출산을 앞둔 임산부에게 처방된 류큐왕국의 사례가 일본의 문화와 관련이 있을 가능성이 있으며 에도의 생활문화에서 인삼이 어떠한 의미가 있는지 분석하였다. This research attempts to analyze the Ginseng policy of Edo Shogunate displayed in Ohure gaki Syusei, the official statute announced to the public. Specifically, this paper takes a closer look into how Edo Shogunate categorized and controlled the selling price of Ginseng according to four categories: Japan imported Chosun Ginseng, Japanese native Ginseng, Tang dynasty Ginseng, and Japan grown Chosun Ginseng. Especially, Japanese native were not considered as a beneficial herb medicine, thus commercialized as a compound. Also, this paper investigated that after 1738, Japanese government supported growth of Chosun Ginseng inside the country. This paper has its value in investigating and analyzing diverse Ginseng categories and its components.
