어린이 앱북 컨텐츠 유형에 따른 어린이 디자인 요소 적용에 관한 연구 - 안전 요소 중심으로 -

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore developmental potentials for whether functions of educational contents for children can be improved via suggestions on element application possibilities and necessary elements in creating app books by applying safety elements among 4 key elements in design for children to app book contents. An analysis framework concentrated on functionality and usability except for environmental performance was prepared for the safety elements, and the characteristics and interfaces of 3 types of app book contents for children that are currently in service were compared and analyzed. As a result, the app book contents could confirm application possibilities for functionality and usability. Generally, similar results came out on functionality. As for usability, they were easy for children to operate, and simple layouts and buttons were assigned. In addition, scenes with images were more common than those with texts, and it was found that sounds were generated in order to draw children"s attention whenever interactions took place. Based on the results, it is expected that the necessity of more detailed analyses on design elements should be recognized for app book contents, as the contents aiming for child education, to carry out effective functions in respect of safety elements and that app book contents can be constantly developed by adding design elements for children in terms of not only visual aspects but also functional aspects of the contents.

본 연구는 어린이 디자인 핵심 4요소 중 안전 요소를 앱북 컨텐츠에 적용해봄으로써 요소에 대한 적용 가능성과 앱북 제작에 있어 필요한 요소 제안을 통해 어린이를 위한 교육용 컨텐츠의 기능을 향상시킬 수 있는지에 대한 발전 가능성을 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 안전 요소는 친환경성을 제외한 기능성, 사용성 중심으로 분석틀을 마련하여 현재 서비스되고 있는 3가지 어린이 앱북 컨텐츠의 특성과 인터페이스를 분석한 후 3가지 사례를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 앱북 컨텐츠가 기능성, 사용성에 대한 적용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 기능성 측면에서는 대체적으로 비슷한 결과를 도출하였다. 사용성 측면에서는 어린이를 위해 조작법이 쉬운 형태로, 간단한 레이아웃과 단순한 버튼을 배치하고 있었다. 또한, 타이포 보다 이미지를 활용한 장면이 대체적이었고 어린이의 흥미를 위해 인터랙션이 주어질 때마다 사운드가 일어난다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결과를 바탕으로 앱북 컨텐츠가 어린이 교육을 목표로 하는 컨텐츠로서 안전 요소 측면에서의 효과적인 기능을 할 수 있도록 보다 상세한 디자인 요소 분석의 필요성을 인식하고, 시각적 피로도, 조작의 과도성 등 시각적인 부분뿐만 아니라 컨텐츠의 기능적 측면에서 어린이 디자인 요소를 적용하여 어린이를 위한 앱북 컨텐츠가 지속적으로 개발될 수 있기를 기대해 본다.
