Abstract
Hong Kong and Shenzen are recognized as strategically importance regions in not only in Asia, but also in the World in number of ways including the culture. Geographic positions of these regions make it easier for it them to play the role of hub for culture businesses in Asia. Hallyu as one of the hottest trends of culture businesses in Asia has been growing fast recently, but it needs carefully considered profit models to grow further in the future. Simple export of content may need to be localized adopting to local audiences of the regions. Recognizing the need of new hallyu model, the study was conducted to examine the monitization models in Hong Kong and Shenzen. A regional television channel, Channel M from Hong Kong and music artist development facility, C-Pop International Training Center were chosen for this study. Channel M is a joint venture television channel between CJ E&M and Fox International Channels in Asia.
