The Mediating Effect of Rejection Sensitivity and Cognitive Emotion Control Strategy in the Relationship between Vulnerability Narcissism and Relational Aggression;(p\u2021. 8\ՑYPxhttp://hanyang.dcollection.net/common/orgView/200000498325;
https://repository.hanyang.ac.kr/handle/20.500.11754/164425;The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of vulnerability
narcissism and rejection sensitivity and cognitive emotional control
strategies as factors affecting the relational aggression of college students
in a modern, narcissistic society.
The study conducted a two-week survey of male and female college
students attending universities in Gyeonggi-do, and a total of 598 data
were used for the final analysis. The collected data were performed using
statistical programs in SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 to analyze structural
equations.
To summarize the results of this study, the following are: First, we look
specifically at the results of the adaptive emotional control strategy model
(model 1). First, vulnerability narcissism in college students has been
shown to have a statically significant effect on rejection sensitivity.
Furthermore, rejection sensitivity has a statically significant effect on
relational aggression, and has been shown to fully medium vulnerability
narcissism and relational aggression. Second, vulnerability narcissism in
university students has been shown to have a significant talismanic effect
on adaptive emotional control strategies. Additionally, adaptive emotional
control strategies have a significant impact on relational aggression, and
have been shown to fully mediate vulnerability narcissism and relational
aggression. Third, in the relationship between vulnerability self-love and
relational aggression in university students, rejection sensitivity and
adaptive emotional control strategies have shown significant sequential
parallel medium effect.
Next, a concrete look at the results of the non-adaptive emotional control
strategy model (model 2). First, it has been shown that vulnerability
narcissism in college students has a static significant effect on relational
aggression. Second, verification of the parallel medium effectiveness of
rejection sensitivity and maladaptive emotional control strategies in the
relationship between vulnerability self-love and relational aggression in
college students showed that the effect of rejection does not have
significant impact on maladaptive emotional control strategies.
When applying the results of this study to counseling, we suggest that it
is more effective to distinguish between adaptive and non-adaptive aspects
of cognitive emotional control strategies. Recently, external attacks such as
school violence and dating violence by college students have been
increasingly sanctioned, so relational attacks, a relatively unseen method,
are more likely to be used as a means of expressing negative emotions
among college students. Therefore, in order to mitigate the relational
aggression of college students, it would be necessary to focus on the
positive side or to train them to see events from the other side rather than
to criticize the other side without distorting the negative emotional
