Abstract
The use of renewable energy as a solution to the recent global climate change and environmental pollution is attracting attention as a promising solution. Among renewable energies, especially solar energy is much more abundant and widespread than other energy resources such as hydroelectric power and wind power. Solar energy is eco-friendly, welcomed because it has no pollutants, and is currently attracting attention as the energy source with the highest potential for alternative energy. Technology development is centering on silicon solar cells. The cost of power generation should be lowered to a level lower than that of conventional fossil fuels, so that silicon solar cells can be competitive in the energy market. Recently, researchers are working on low-cost and high-efficiency solar cells. As a representative example, there is a solar cell efficiency improvement using texturing. In particular, inverted pyramid structures, rather than general pyramid texturing, have lower reflectivity and can have a significant impact on efficiency improvement. However, current inverted pyramid texturing basically uses lithography process, which causes cost problems. Current pyramid texturing using KOH solution has a problem in that it consumes a large amount of Si, which makes it difficult to apply it to current solar cells which are getting smaller and thinner. In this study, inverted pyramid etching was fabricated by MaCE process, which is chemical etching method using metal oxidation and reduction reaction, not lithography process. In addition, additive was added to the existing KOH etching, and a small pyramid was created using the masking effect. As a result, 10% reflectivity was obtained in the inverted pyramid structure produced without the lithography process. Small pyramid also reduced the consumption of Si compared with the conventional method, and the reflectance was similar. In addition, We fabricated tandem cell structure using Perovskite, which has been attracting attention for its high marginal efficiency. In order to maximize the efficiency of the tandem cell, the processes for improving the efficiency of the bottom cell were carried out and a heterojunction bottom cell with a high efficiency of 15% or more was obtained. Using this bottom cell, we synthesized tandem cell with PSK, and we obtained about 12% efficiency and 1.5V.
