『實地應用日韓會話獨習』의 日本語와 韓國語

Abstract

본고는 1904년 일본 오사카에서 간행된 한국어 학습서 『実地応用日韓会話独習』의 제작 배경과 그 내용을 조사ㆍ분석하여 언어사의 입장에서 본 학습서가 가지는 가치를 생각해보고자 한 것이다. 본서는 러일전쟁 기간 중에 발간된 한국어 학습서 가운데 군사적인 측면보다도 상업적인 측면에 중심을 둔 학습서로서 주목된다. 특히 본서에 수록된 일본어와 한국어 회화문에는 당시의 역사적인 사실이 반영되어 있으며 높은 구어성을 확보하고 있다는 점에서 언어자료로서의 가치를 가지고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 조사의 결과, 본서의 일본어에는 문법과 어휘면에서 1904년을 전후하는 현실 일본어가 충실하게 반영되어 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 본서의 한국어에는 음운사나 어휘사적인 측면에서 귀중한 정보를 제공해 주고 있음을 지적했다. 이와 같은 특징을 가진 『実地応用日韓会話独習』은 언어사적인 시점에서 다양한 문제를 제기할 수 있는 자료로서 활용 가능할 것으로 생각된다. The purpose of this paper is to examine the contents and the background of the book―Jitchioyo Nikkankaiwadokusyu(實地應用日韓会話獨習)―which was published in Japan in April 1904, and to consider the value of the book as a research resource for the Korean and Japanese languages. Most Korean language textbooks published during the Russo-Japanese War were created for military purposes. Being one of the few books that were created for commercial purposes, this book is of particular interest. An analysis, confirmed that the transitional phenomena of modern Japanese such as conjugations, honorific expressions, and the potential form of verbs were applied to the Japanese language in the book. In addition, phenomena that can be used in the research of modern language’s historical phonology and lexical history in the Korean language of the book was confirmed.

本稿は、1904年、日本の大阪で刊行された韓国語学習書『実地応用日韓会話独習』の製作背景とその内容を調査ㆍ分析し、言語史の立場から本書の持つ意味を考えてみようとしたものである。 本書は、日露戦争期に刊行された学習書の中では、軍事よりは商業の方に中心をおいた学習書として注目できる。特に、本書に収録されている日本語と韓国語の会話文には、当時の歴史的な事実を反映する内容をもっているとともに、高い口語性を備えている点で、言語資料としての価値を有するものと思われる。 調査の結果、本書の日本語には、文法と語彙面において、1904年前後の現実日本語が充実に反映されていることが確認できた。また、本書に収録されている韓国語は、韓国語の音韻史や語彙史的な側面から貴重な資料的情報を提供し得るものであることを報告した。 このような特徴を持つ『実地応用日韓会話独習』は、韓国と日本の言語史的な立場から今後様々な問題を提起し得る資料として活用出来るものと思われる。
