존재 차원의 자연을 통한 윤리적 투시-박두진의 시적 형이상학

Abstract

이른바 청록파로 불린 세 시인은 모두 자연을 시화한 공통점이 있지만, 박목월이나 조지훈의 자연과 박두진의 그것은 차원이나 어조가 매우 다르다. 가령 신성의 상상적 모형으로서의 자연을 박목월이 노래했다면, 조지훈은 시 창작의 배경으로서의 자연을 적극 받아들였다. 그에 비해 박두진이 추구한 자연은 정신과 이상을 구현하는 관념의 매개체이자 그것에 형식과 육체를 부여하는 우의적(寓意的) 대상으로 줄곧 나타난다는 점에서 이색적이다. 이처럼 박두진 초기시는 자연을 제재로 했으면서도 현실에 대한 도피처로서의 자연이나 심미적인 체관적(諦觀的) 자연이 아니라 역동적인 생명력의 원천으로서의 자연을 노래했다는 점이 특징적이다. 그의 시에서 나타난 생동하는 빛과 사물은 근대적 이성주의에 매몰된 인간 내면에 잠재된 영성적 시원성(始原性)을 들춰내어 자연에 새로운 생기를 불어넣는 감각과 이미지로 작용한다. 그 점에서 박두진의 시가 지니고 있는 이러한 속성은 인간 중심의 환경론이나 생물학적 생명론의 차원을 벗어나는 데에 좋은 참고가 될 수 있다. 그것은 박두진이 무한히 열려진 자연의 초월성을 감지해내는 빛의 감각과 생명의 서정으로 시의 대상을 접근하면서 자연에 존재하는 사물의 초월적 영성을 표현했기 때문이다. 그것이 결국 혜산만의 존재 차원의 자연을 통한 윤리적 투시를 이루어낸 것이다. All three poets of Blue Deer School(Cheongnok-pa) wrote poems about nature, however, nature of Park, Mokwol and Cho, Jihoon`s poems is very different from that of Park, Dujin`s in level and tone. For example, Park, Mokwol described nature as an imagined model of sacredness of God but Cho, Jihoon actively accepted nature as a background of his poem-writing. By comparison, nature in Park, Dujin`s poems was peculiar in that it was presented as a medium that could materialize a spirit and an ideal and also an allegorical object that gave it a form and body. In this way, the features of Park, Dujin`s early poems is that they had nature as its topic and depicted nature not as a refuge from reality nor esthetical resignation but as a dynamic source of life. Fresh and vivid lights and things in his poems work as senses and images that discover the divine origin latent in the inside of human beings buried in modern rationalism and infuse life into nature. In this aspect, the characteristics of Park, Dujin`s poems could become a good reference to escape from human-centered environmental theories or biological theories of life. This is because he presented transcendental divine nature in nature by accessing to object of poems with senses of lights and lyricism of life that could perceive transcendence of nature infinitely open. In the end, Park, Dujin achieved an ethical perspective with his own nature of existential level.
