Abstract
The thermodynamics of Ti, N, and O in liquid iron was studied in order to establish a database to predict the TiN and TiOx formation in liquid steels as a function of temperature. The interaction parameters between Ti, N, and O in liquid iron and the equilibrium constants for the formation of TiN, Ti2O3, and Ti3O5 in liquid iron were determined as a function of temperature.
