Abstract
Recently, as the environmental problem such as global warming has been issued over the world, the policy related to eco-environment has been reinforced. The government started to apply MEPS to electric products to deal with environmental problem. Since efficiency of rare earth magnet motor is high generally, it seems to be effective way to deal with MEPS. However, due to cost characteristic of rare earth material recently and in 2011, it is judged that conventional low efficiency motor is difficult to be replaced with rare earth magnet motor. Therefore, in this paper, SynRM (Synchronous Reluctance Motor) is suggested to cope with MEPS effectively. Since rotor of SynRM has relatively a variety of variables compared with other rotors, designing initial model well is difficult. Therefore, in this paper, using Kw-mapping, within limitation conditions, the model maximizing power and efficiency is derived. Moreover, using RSM, the optimized thickness on each rib is designed. From FEA of final model, as power is 16.1 kW, and efficiency is more than 96 %, it satisfy MEPS IE 4 grade. By manufacturing and testing initial, FEA result is verified and compared.
