프로젝트관리 성숙도가 R&D 성과에 미치는 영향

Abstract

기업들은 지속가능한 성장을 위해 수익성 제고와 친환경 그리고 사회적 책임을 실현하기 위해 노력하고 있고, 특히 수익성 제고 실현을 위해 제품서비스의 차별화된 성능과 가격 경쟁력 그리고 고객니즈에 신속한 대응을 통한 경쟁우위확보가 필요한 상황이다. 기업의 R&D 활동은 경영이익을 증대시키고 경쟁기업에 대한 차별화된 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있기 때문에 기업의 핵심역량으로서 역할을 담당하고 있다. 따라서 성공적인 R&D 활동을 수행하기 위해서 R&D 프로세스를 확립하고 체계적인 프로젝트관리를 통해서 R&D 성과를 측정하는 연구의 중요성은 더욱 더 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서 R&D 프로세스 성숙도는 CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) 평가 방법론, 프로젝트관리 성숙도는 프로젝트관리 성숙도 모델(project management maturity model)을 이론적 기반으로 적용하여 R&D 프로세스 성숙도의 R&D 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해서 프로젝트관리의 중요성을 검증하였다. 연구목적으로 첫 번째는 선행연구와의 차별적인 연구방법으로 R&D 프로세스와 프로젝트관리의 통합적인 관점으로 프로젝트 성과 및 R&D 성과의 관련성을 검증하고자 하였다. 두 번째는 기업에서 실질적으로 적용할 수 있는 R&D 성과 평가 방법론을 개발할 수 있는 이론적 기반과 측정항목을 제시하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 실증분석을 위해 R&D 업무를 수행하는 기업과 공공기관을 대상으로 제조, 건설·엔지니어링, 조선·플랜트, 정보통신, 교육, 컨설팅 여섯 가지 산업 및 대기업과 중소기업 두 가지 기업 규모로 분류하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 메일과 SNS를 이용한 온라인 설문방법으로 수집된 총 55개 기업의 131명 설문결과에 대해서 SPSS 18.0와 AMOS 18.0을 사용하여 빈도분석, 신뢰성 및 타당성 평가, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석, ANOVA 분산분석, t-test 차이분석을 진행하였다. 분석결과 R&D 프로세스 성숙도가 높을수록 R&D 성과와 R&D 프로젝트 성과가 향상되기 때문에 기업에서는 R&D 프로세스 성숙도 수준을 올릴 수 있는 방법과 R&D 조직 구성원들이 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 체계적인 R&D 프로세스의 수립과 운영이 필요함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 프로젝트 성과를 통한 R&D 성과의 향상이 기대되기 때문에 프로젝트관리에 대한 중요성을 인식하고 프로젝트관리 방법론의 지속적인 학습과 기업 특성에 적합한 프로젝트관리 방법론 개발의 중요성을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구결과에서 정리된 R&D 분야에 대한 프로세스 및 프로젝트관리 성숙도의 평가, 그리고 R&D 성과 평가에 대한 학문적 검증결과를 기업 경영에 실질적인 R&D 관리 방법론으로 활용한다면 R&D 성과 뿐 아니라 기업의 성과 향상에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.; Companies are striving to realize profitability enhancement, environmental friendliness and social responsibility for sustainable growth. Especially, in order to realize profitability enhancement. it is necessary to have differentiated performance and price competitiveness of product service and competitive advantage for prompt response to customer needs. R&D activities of companies play a role as core competencies of companies because they can increase management profits and secure differentiated competitiveness against competitors. Therefore, the importance of establishing R&D processes to perform successful R&D activities and measuring R&D performance through systematic project management is becoming even more important. In this study about the effect of R&D process maturity on the R&D performance, R&D process maturity is evaluated by applying CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) evaluation methodology and project management maturity is evaluated by applying project management maturity model. For the purpose of research, the first was to examine the relevance of project performance and R&D performance to the integrated view of R&D process and project management as a distinctive research method from previous research. The second is to present the theoretical basis and the measurement items that can develop practically applicable R&D performance evaluation methodology in enterprises. For the empirical analysis of this study, we surveyed the companies and public organizations performing R&D work in the categories of manufacturing, construction·engineering, shipbuilding·plant, information and communication, education, consulting. Reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, ANOVA variance analysis and t-test difference analysis were conducted using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 on 131 questionnaires collected from 55 companies collected through mail and SNS. As a result of the analysis, the higher the maturity level of the R&D process, the better the R&D performance and the R&D project performance. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and operate a systematic R&D process to increase the R&D process maturity level and actively participate in the R&D process. In addition, because it is expected to improve R&D performance through project performance, companies recognize the importance of project management and propose importance of continuous learning of project management methodology and development of project management methodology suited to company characteristics.
