The demand for high strength steel increases because high strength steel is capable of retaining required strength, economic efficiency and reducing the weight of the buildings. According to AISC 341-16 (2016), high strength steel is permitted for columns in special moment frames due to its low ductility capacity. It is difficult to accurately simulate the cyclic behavior of moment connection consisting of high strength steel columns and beams due to the lack of experimental data. In this study, the cyclic curves of high strength steel moment connection are simulated using finite element (FE) analysis. For this purpose, this study considers Welded unreinforced flange-welded web (WUF-W) connections. FE model containing modeling details is constructed for high strength WUF-W connections. The accuracy of the proposed FE model is verified by comparing actual and simulated cyclic curves of a WUF-W connection.-
