우리 음악을 활용한 통합음악활동이 유아의 창의성과 음악 적성에 미치는 영향

Abstract

유아기는 창의성과 음악적성 발달에 있어 적기라 할 수 있다. 또한 최근 교육계는 다양한 영역의 활동을 통합하여 아동의 특정 능력 발달을 돕는 통합적 접근을 옹호하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 유아의 창의성과 음악적성 발달을 위한 통합 활동을 구성하였고, 이러한 통합 활동이 기존 유아교육현장에서 시행되는 음악활동(새노래 활동)과 비교해 유아의 창의성과 음악적성 발달에 어떠한 효과를 나타내지는 검토하였다. 특히 본 연구는 유아의 창의성과 음악적성 개발에 있어 우리 음악 장르가 기타 음악 장르보다 더 유용할 것으로 판단하여 우리 음악에 기반을 두고 다양한 영역의 활동을 통합한 음악활동을 구성하였다. ‘우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동’ 구성을 위해 본 연구는 국악 놀이 연구소의 ‘우리 음악으로 하는 유아 창의교육’과 누리과정 만 5세를 위한 교사 지침(교육과학기술부, 보건복지부, 2013)을 참고하여 회기별 우리 음악 교육 주제를 선정하였다. 또한 음악 감상이나 음악 활동뿐 아니라 이야기 듣기와 나누기, 명화 감상, 신체 표현, 미술 표현과 다양한 양식을 활용하여 음악을 탐색(이야기 나누기, 전래동화 듣기, 악기 소리 탐색하기), 감상(우리나라 악기 소리 감상, 명화감상), 표현(악기 연주하기, 신체 표현하기, 말장단 놀이하기, 미술 표현하기, 장단 표현하기)하도록 하는 통합 활동을 구성하였다. 지도체계는 전송배, 모형오(2003)의 ‘유아 국악 교육’을 참고하였다.

본 연구의 연구 문제는 다음과 같다.

1. 새노래 활동과 비교해 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동이 유아의 창의성에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 2. 새노래 활동과 비교해 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동이 유아의 음악 적성에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?

본 연구는 광진구에 위치한 S 유치원의 만 5세 유아 18명을 실험집단으로, 성동구에 위치한 Y 유치원의 만 5세 유아 18명을 비교집단으로 선정하여 서울시 성동· 광진 교육청 소속 공립 유치원 만 5세 유아 총 36명을 대상으로 진행되었다. 2017년 3월부터 2018년 2월까지 예비검사, 사전검사, 실험처치, 사후검사, 추후검사로 진행된 본 연구에서 실험집단은 실험처치 기간(총 11개월 중 방학을 제외한 36주) 동안 ‘우리 음악을 활용한 통합 활동’에 주 1회 회기 당 30분씩 총 36회기 참여하였고, 비교집단은 같은 기간 동안 ‘새노래 활동’에 주1회 회기 당 30분씩 총 36회기 참여하였다. 만 5세 유아의 창의성과 음악 적성을 측정하기 위해 유아종합 창의성 검사(전경원, 2000)와 유아 음악 적성 검사(현경실, 2016)를 사용하였으며, 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동이 유아의 창의성과 음악 적성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 수집된 검사 자료를 SPSS 22.0 통계 프로그램을 이용해 Wilcoxon 부호 순위 검정을 시행하여 분석하였다. 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동이 유아의 창의성과 음악 적성에 끼치는 영향을 살펴본 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실험집단에서 진행한 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 활동이 비교집단에서 진행한 새노래 활동에 비해 유아의 창의성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 실험집단에서 진행한 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 활동이 비교집단에서 진행한 새노래 활동에 비해 유아의 음악 적성에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동이 현재 유아 교육현장에서 널리 진행되고 있는 새노래 음악활동보다 유아 음악 적성은 물론 유아 창의성에 더 큰 효과를 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다. 끝으로 우리 음악을 활용한 통합 음악활동의 유아 교육 현장에의 도입의 중요성과 필요성이 강조되었다.; Early childhood is a very important period in the development of musical ability, and it is also necessary to importantly deal with musical experience in this period at an educational dimension(Gembris, 2002; Gordon, 1997; Shuter-Dyson, 1982). Children are essentially creative human beings, and their thinking style is flexible and open-minded. Since they are human beings who look at things with imagination, it is the right time that creative education with integrated characteristics can be effectively works(Kim Chunil, 2000). For the integrated activities using our music proceeded in this research, our music related to life theme was selected from ‘children creative education using our music’ from KUKAKNORI Research Institute and instructor guideline for 4 year-old children in Nuri program(Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2013). In organizing the integrated activities using our music, by reflecting details of art experience area of Nuri program, various integrated activities about appreciation, expression and exploration activities of our music(exploration-sharing stories, listening to traditional fairy tales, exploring instrument sounds, appreciation-appreciating Korean traditional instrument sounds, appreciating famous paintings, expression-playing an instrument, expressing the body, playing talk-beating, expressing art, expressing beat) were carried out with reference to guide system of ‘Children’s gukak education’ of Jeon Songbae and Mo Hyeongo(2003). The research problems of this research are as follows.

1. What is the effect which the integrated activities using Korean Tranditional Music have on the children’s total creativity compared to general song activities?

2. What is the effect which the integrated activities using Korean Tranditional Music have on this children’s musical aptitude ability compared to general song activities?

This research was conducted targeting 36 children who are 4 years old in public kindergartens belong to the Seongdong Gwangjin Education Office, Seoul, and 18 children aged 4 year-old in S kindergarten located in Guwanjin-gu were selected as the experimental group and 18 children aged 4 year-old in Y kindergarten located in Seongdong-gu were selected as the comparative group. This research had been conducted in the order of preparatory test, pre-test, experimental treatment, post-test and follow-up test from Mar. 2017 to Feb. 2018. During the experimental treatment period, the experimental group participated in the 36 sessions of integrated activities using our music once a week for 30 minutes for 36 weeks except for vacation out of 11 months. In order to measure 4 year-old children’s creativity and musical aptitude, Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children(Jeon Gyeongwon, 2000) and Kid’s MAT-Kid’s Music Aptitude Test(Hyun Gyeongsil, 2016) were used, and in order to find out the effect that the integrated activities using our music have on children’s creativity and musical aptitude, Wilcoxon sign ranking test was conducted using SPSS 22.0 statistic program for the collected test data. The results of this research to find out the effect that the integrated activities have on children’s creativity and musical aptitude are as follows. First, the experimental group that participated in the integrated activities using our music showed a positive effect on children’s creativity compared to the comparative group that participated in the general song activities. Second, the experimental group that participated in the integrated activities using our music showed a positive effect on children’s musical aptitude compared to the comparative group that participated in the general song activities.
