Abstract
An adolescent period is transition period from childhood to adulthood which requires active physical and emotional developments. Thus, plan of community facility in residential environment is needed for satisfaction of various requirements in the perspective of adolescent’s healthy development. This research aims to suggest basic information for planning community facility in apartment complex which satisfies various requirements based on analysis of recently-built adolescent community facilities in apartment complexes. We researched definition and characteristics of adolescent through adolescent and community facility related specialty publications, theses and academic journals. And we analyzed preceding researches associated with comprehension and classification of community facility in apartment complex. The research result based on findings can be summarized as follows. First, space where adolescents can perform exchange activity and hobby activity is insufficient. Second, library and study room need to have variability structure so that they can be separated according to situation for privacy and soundproof, Third, diversity of furniture is needed for private meeting and peer group meeting. Also, provision of space where can achieve wide experience is needed. Fourth, physical training facilities and programs which consider adolescent’s desire change should be introduced.
