Abstract
This disseratation describes the structural properties based on Zinc Oxide (ZnO) and the ZnO nanostructures based self-powered system utilizing energy harvesting as piezoelectric and triboelectric effects. At first, we present a hydrothermal routine based on all solution phase synthesis of ZnO nanostructures. A ZnO seed layer is formed through dip coating and nanowires are formed through hydrothermal synthesis for one-dimensional nanostructures. Polymer and polyethyleneimine (PEI) are added in the hydrothermal synthesis to produce vertically long and well aligned ZnO nanowires. Al seed by thermal evaporation is formed through chemical reaction changes during hydrothermal synthesis for two-dimensional nanostructure. Second, a nano-generator is developed by applying various ZnO nanostructured forms and PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) coating process. We also develop wearable nanogenerator to create self-powered system driven by human motion, such as tensile motion, folding, and compression, using the properties and surface structure of ZnO materials. We observe the change of fabric-based nano-generator through the change of surface structure through output voltage and current.
