Abstract
Globally vehicle exhaust regulations are being tightened because of depletion of fossil fuels and air pollution. Respond to this, many automotive industries and research laboratories are making an effort to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Among the many relative technologies, hydrocarbon and hydrogen mixed combustion system is received many attention as a solution. There is a method of using a reforming catalyst for supplying hydrogen to a conventional internal combustion engine. Reforming catalyst technology has advantages of the fast reaction and compact size because the system has few components. In addition, this technology can be applied without changing the structure of the existing internal combustion engine. In this study, the catalytic system for the LPG engine is investigated. The result of this study is used as the basic data of the hydrogen-LPG mixed engine applying the catalyst system in the future.
