Abstract
Recently, governments around the world are seeking to reduce pedestrian mortality by strengthening pedestrian safety regulations such as Euro-NCAP. In 2015, the Euro-NCAP has revised the upper leg assessment from the upper legform to bonnet leading edge tset to the upper legform to WAD 775mm test. the test is being implemented. In this research, The methods and procedures of the revised upper legform to WAD 775mm test are analyzed and evaluated. To comprehend the test procedures, the actual test of the upper legform to WAD 775mm test is carried out and a procedure to be supplemented is observed. Car-to-human model simulation, which reproduces the pedestrian accident, is performed and the data on the thigh and femur are computed. In the upper legform to WAD 775mm test, the setting methods of the testing velocity and angle are analyzed. In addition, the influence of the height of the car and the shape of the front bumper on the testing speed and angle setting are analyzed. Also, in order to replace the high cost of the actual test with the simulation, the car-to-upper legform simulation is carried out. The injury values between the results of the actual test and car-to-upper legform simulation are compared.
