Abstract
The purposes of this research were to analyze functional characteristics of common space and common space for foreigner tourists lodging Bukchon Hanok guest house. and suggest vitalization direction as a space considering communication of Hanok guest house's foreigner tourists in the future. Through the results of case analysis, suggestions for vitalizing communication function of common space are as follows. First, it's good to take table arrangement type rather than central garden type or take several tables under the center of garden, for yard. Second, kitchen shows more active function of communication in autonomous cooking operation rather than meal feeding operation. Third, it's good to use the floor by using it for internal and external mediation rather than closing the door for actual use so that several guests can share it. Fourth, common bathroom has characteristic that only one person can use it due to the small scale of Hanok guest house, so communication function is not played. But, if designing it for several guests' use at the same time by improving the scale of common bathroom and making it by outdoor style, communication functions will be improved. Finally, in experience space, individual space is prepared for each characteristics of experience program and communication function and usefulness of the space are given.
