dc.description.abstractIn the present paper, combustion characteristics for various injection strategies were studied in a GDI optical engine. The in-cylinder pressure was acquired for single and multiple injection strategies and the flame images were recorded with a high-speed camera. The maximum in-cylinder pressure was decreased with advancing injection timing because the combustion speed was reduced as seen in the flame propagation images. Furthermore, flame radius was calculated through image process. The images revealed the flame propagation direction and pattern.en_US
