스마트 정보 환경과 관광안내소 방문 수요

Abstract

정보통신 기술의 혁명적인 발전은 관광객의 여행정보 탐색과 관련된 행동에도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 특히 스마트폰과 모바일 컴퓨터의 급속한 보급에 따른 스마트 정보 시대의 도래는 그동안 여행정보를 얻는 대표적 외적 수단으로 기능해왔던 관광안내소의 운영에도 지대한 영향을 미치고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 급변하는 정보 환경에서 관광안내소가 관광객의 달라진 정보 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 새로운 역할을 찾는데 목적이 있다. 최근 1년 동안 국내 여행 경험이 있는 한국인을 대상으로 진행된 본 연구의 결과에 따르면, 여행 정보원으로서 인터넷의 기능이 관광안내소의 방문 결정뿐 아니라 방문 수요량 확대에도 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 반면 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS)에 여행 경험담이나 후기, 사진 등을 올리는 관광객은 관광안내소 방문에 적극적이었으며, 방문 횟수도 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 허들모형을 활용한 본 연구는 분석 결과를 바탕으로 향후 관광안내소가 이용자들의 만족을 극대화할 수 있는 방안을 제시했다. The revolutionary development in recent information communication technology has substantially transformed tourist behaviors in searching for travel information. The advent of the ``smart information`` era representing the wide diffusion of mobile devices, such as smartphones and wireless tablet computers, has encouraged tourism organizations to reconsider their current Operation Systems (OS) for tourist information centers (TICs). This study intends to provide useful TIC management implications, which can assist the traditional forefront engines of tourism promotion, to help deal with the dramatically changing information environment. Using a sample of Korean domestic tourists, this study aims to provide opportunities to understand what elements of technology development influence tourist visits to TICs. From this study, results revealed that the innovative progress in information communication technology had negative effects on TIC use demand. It is interesting that many SNS users revealed their preferences for frequent visits to the tourism facilities. Several constructive management strategies are proposed to fulfill TIC visitor satisfaction.
