We thank Dr. Xue et al for their interest in our study. They correctly pointed out our preferred choice of use of the sniffing position instead of the neutral position. We also know that the in-line head and neck position (neutral position) of the patient is more suitable than the sniffing position for actual intubation using the Pentax-AWS.1 However, the aim of our study was not to intubate patients with the Pentax-AWS but to investigate the change of laryngeal view with increments in cricoid pressure, using our original force-sensor unit and video-recording system.en_US
