Abstract
The object of this study is to suggest recommended area for reasonable public facilities of elderly housing by analyzing area of public facilities and their operation by time period. The results were as follows.1) The recommended floor area per resident for facilities of elderly housing was shown in <table 13>.For example, 0.70㎡ for lobby and lounge; 0.75㎡ for physiotherapy room, 0.25㎡ for market, 0.44㎡ for office, 0.11㎡ for laundry room, 0.89㎡ for kitchen, 1.81㎡ for cafeteria, 1.90 for restaurant, 0.49㎡ for sauna(men), 0.56㎡ for sauna(women), 2.27㎡ for fitness center, 1.12㎡ for computer lab, 1.00㎡ for auditorium, 0.27㎡ for cafe and so on.2) The recommended area for public facilities of elderly housing in Seoul metropolitan area may be reduced by 3.89%(1,169.62㎡).3) Because the usage of food and beverage facilities in lunch time was the highest in a day, the proper area for food and beverage facilities had been determined based on the number of users during lunch time and was 2.70㎡ per user.As a result, the area of public facilities in 6 elderly housings built after 2000 and located in Seoul metropolitan area was excessive. We expect based on the results of this research more efficient and economic public facilities would be planned in the future.
