<박태보전>의 이본 <문녈공긔사>의 작가와 저작 원리

Abstract

박태보는 조선 숙종 시절에 인현왕후 폐비에 반대하는 상소를 올려 결국 맞아 죽은 인물이다. 좋은 집안에서 태어난 똑똑한 인물이 맞아 죽기까지 했기 때문에 그 극적인 죽음을 쓴 글이 많이 남아 있다. 이것을 <박태보전>이라 통칭한다. <문녈공긔□>는 <박태보전>의 이본이면서, 현존 이본 중 가장 길고 자세하며, 철저히 사실 자료에 근거하여 썼다는 점에서 매우 신뢰도 높은 이본이다. 이 글에서 필자는 <문녈공긔□>의 작자와 저작 시기를 유추했다. 영조 시기 사육신의 시호를 내리는 장면에서 ``사관``으로 입시했다는 정보에 근거하여 박태보의 4대 후손 항렬인 박상로를 작가로 비정하였다. 또 <문녈공긔□>에 포함된 역사적인 사실에 근거하여 이 작품은 영조 병자년인 1756년에 지었고, 끝에 시호에 대해 물은 1758년의 일만 추가했음을 밝혔다. 작가 후기를 분석하여, 작가가 앞부분에서는 중국 인물 공도보 및 추호와의 비교를 통해 박태보 충성의 우뚝함을 강조했고, 뒷부분에서는 이 작품의 집필 배경과 저술 방식 및 작가의 감정 및 의도까지 드러냈음을 설명하였다. 다른 이본들과 비교할 때 <문녈공긔□>에 새로 추가된 일화가 무엇인지 정리한 후, 각 일화는 단순히 자세히 나열되는 데 그친 것이 아니라 ``충성``이라는 단어하나로 꿰어지도록 구성되었다는 것도 밝혔다. 이것은 바로 작가가 후기에서 밝힌 집필 방향과도 맞는 것이다.Bak Taebo was beaten to death by Emperor Suzong of T?ng in Chosun Dynasty because of appealing against deposal of a queen. He died a thousand deaths and finally he did, althouth He was a man of good family and smart. So many people wrote his dramatic scene. Generally we call that ``Baktaebojeon``. Munnyeolgonggisa is a sort of Baktaebojeon. And it is the longist version and the reliable version. In this thesis, I estimated the writer and the age of the Munnyeolgonggisa. According to the word ``royal recorder`` in the Munnyeolgonggisa, the writer was Bak Sedang. He was four-generation grandson of Bak Taebo. He wrote this version in 1756, and touched up in 1758. Also, I analyzed the writer`s epilogue. In the epilogue, he emphasized Bak Taebo`s royalty by comparison with him and chinese historical persons. And he explained why he wrote, how he wrote, what was writing`s principle of Munnyeolgonggisa. There were many previously untold story of Bak Taebo. The writer based his principles of writing on right-mindedness and loyalty. That had something to do with writer`s epilogue.
