Penman and Zhang(2002), Givoly and Hayn(2000), Feltham and Ohlson(1995)과 Zhang(2000)의 연구에서 사용한 측정치가 사용되었다. This study examines whether management earnings forecast information is affected by conservative characteristics of managers since Fair Disclosure Regulation is adopted in 2002. More conservative managers would not over-estimate earnings forecasts. It is assumed that there should be negative association between conservatism and over-estimation of management earnings forecast. The sample consists of 427 firm-year observations from the listed companies in Korean Stock Exchange(KSE) for the period of November 2002 to 2009. We calculate conservatism using the Penman and Zhang(2002) model, the Givoly and Hayn(2000) model, and the Feltham and Ohlson(1995) model. The empirical results show that under the Penman and Zhang(2002) model and the Givoly and Hayn(2000) model, management earnings forecast information is affected by conservative characteristics of managers. The more conservative managers become the less earnings forecast over-estimation is. This study provides important implications to information users.
