Therefore, targeting baby boomers who are set to retire in droves, this study analyzed their housing plans after retirement in order to suggest a family-friendly community space as part of space design to deal with the population change through a multiple approach to fields such as real estate, economy, social welfare and interior design. This study aims to provide an interior and architectural design guideline by analyzing economical, environmental, physical and mental characteristics of the baby boom generation after retirement and organizing a family-friendly community space for personal, public, medical and managemental purposes. In conclusion, this will serve as a medium to enjoy social welfare services, develop smooth social adaptability, to promote social integration and to improve the quality of life. Furthermore, this will be an alternative as a space design to cope with social phenomenon and population change in future.
