한국폴리텍대학 졸업생의 직업기초능력에 대한 산업체의 교육 요구도 분석

Abstract

모든 직업 활동에 필요한 직업기초능력이 조직 차원에서는 경쟁력 확보를 위해 필요하고, 개인 차원의 경우고용가능성(employability)을 높이는데 중요한 요소로 자리 잡고 있다. 이는 직업기초능력이 학교 교육과 평생학습 차원에서 주목을 받게 되었음을 의미한다. 무엇보다 먼저 학교 차원에서는 직업기초능력 증진 교육을 위해 해당 학교 졸업생들이 취업한 산업체로부터 직업기초능력 정도를 어떻게 평가받고 있는지에 대한 진단 평가가 선행되어야 한다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 한국폴리텍대학의 직업기초능력 강화 차원에서 해당 졸업생들이 취업한 산업체로부터 직업기초능력에 관한 교육 요구도를 측정 평가 하였다. 산업체로부터 직업기초능력에 관한 한국폴리텍대학 졸업생에 대한 교육 요구도 조사는 두 차례에 걸쳐 시행되었다. 1차 교육요구도 웹설문 조사에서는 한국폴리텍대학 졸업생을 고용하고 있는 전국 16개 지역(서울, 부산, 광주, 구미, 김제, 대구, 대전, 목포, 성남, 아산, 안성, 울산, 인천, 창원, 청주, 홍성) 626개 기업체 소속 인사를 대상으로 실시하였고, 339명으로부터 응답을 확보하였다. 1차 설문조사는 직업기초능력 6개 영역(의사소통능력, 대인관계능력, 자기개발능력, 문제해결능력, 정보화능력, 직업윤리능력)에 대한 교육 요구도 우선순위를 측정하였다. 1차 조사 결과 교육 요구도가 높게 나타난 ‘자기개발능력’, ‘문제해결능력’, ‘의사소통능력’에 대해 하위능력을 구성하는 세부 행동 지표별로 2차 교육 요구도를 조사하였다. 2차 조사에는 626개 기업체 소속 인사 중 189명의 응답자가 설문에 참여했으나, 결측치가 포함된 응답자를 제외하고 실제 본 연구의 분석대상에 포함된 참여자는 144명이었다.이들 교육 요구도 분석은 IPA 매트릭스 분석과 보리치(Borich) 요구도 분석 방법을 동시에 활용하였으며, 각 영역별로 교육 요구도가 높은 세부 행동지표도 확인하였다. 연구 결과에 기초하여 한국폴리텍대학의 직업기초능력 증진 방안을 제언하였다The importance of flexibility and adaptability in the global knowledge-based economy is a leading issue in current education and training. To fulfill many different roles throughout life in organization and to increase individual employability, key competencies are critical. In this sense, key competencies need to be taught as an educational process in post-secondary education. In order to increase the level of key competencies of students, the current status of key competencies should be first assessed. Then, this study is intended to investigate the current status and needs of key competencies required from graduates of Korea Polytechnic Colleges. The study conducted surveys of industries where the graduates are employed. The data were analyzed using IPA matrix analysis and Borich needs analysis. The research findings showed that key competencies need to be developed in the areas of self development, problem solving, and communication. Based on the results of the study, several tasks to improve key competencies were suggested for education in the Polytechnic Colleges.
