Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze sub-factors (cooperation, healthy attitude, patience and concentration) of the development of elementary school students’ sociality through dancing classes of school arts & culture education to vitalize dancing classes. To achieve this purpose, this research chose as subjects total 540 fifth-grade or sixth-grade students among 7 elementary schools in Seoul and Gyeongsangnam-do: 242 male students and 298 female students. We conducted surveys on the development of sociality. First, the analysis of differences of sociality according to general characteristics (i,e, region, grade, sex, and educational background) showed that students of elementary schools in Seoul, fifth-year students, female students, or students whose mother had educational attainments equal to and higher than those of college graduate were high in sociality. Second, the analysis of differences of sociality development according to the period of school dancing classes showed that the students who received dancing classes for six months or more to less than one year were high in sociality development. The analysis of differences of sociality development according to interest in dancing classes showed that 'very' cooperation, 'very' healthy attitude, 'very' patience and 'some' concentration were high in sociality development.
