해외문학파의 시적 지향―이하윤의 경우

Abstract

해외문학파는 근대문학사에 처음으로 외국문학을 번역하고 소개한 그룹이다. 그들은 특별한 구심적 강령이나 이념에 의해 결합된 집단이라기보다는 비교적 느슨한 인적 결속체였다고 할 수 있다. 이들의 문학적 행로는 ?海外文學?에서 시작하여 『詩文學』-『文藝月刊』-『文學』-『詩苑』으로 이어지는 순수 서정시 계열로 나타난다. 이때 이하윤의 매체적 역할과 시적 성취는 해외문학파가 1930년대 문단에서 자신들의 흔적을 남기는 중요한 준거가 된다. 비교적 뚜렷한 외국어 실력과 전공 의식을 바탕으로 한국문학을 위한 외국문학 연구와 수용을 기치로 내걸었던 해외문학파는 이렇게 다른 매체들로 이월되고 흡수되어간다. 이 매체들의 속성은 시 중심의 순수서정 지향으로 모아지는데, 이들은 그 당시 문단을 흔들었던 프로문학과 민족주의를 모두 넘어선 곳에 현저한 미학주의적 지향을 드리웠다. 이때 중요한 역할을 한 사람이 이하윤이다. 이하윤은 순수서정시의 지향을 지속적으로 지켜가면서, 후기에는 가요 형식에 가까운 시편들을 줄곧 창작하였다. 그 내용은 상실감과 그리움이라는 원초적 정서를 담은 것이었고, 형식은 정형에 가까운 가요적 속성을 가진 것이었다. 이러한 회고적 감각은, 외국문학 전공자로서의 자의식과는 정반대편에서 생성된 것이었고, 식민지 시대 순수서정시가 귀착한 퇴행적 경로를 확연하게 보여주는 것이었다.Haewoimunhakpa was a group which translated and introduced foreign literature at first. This group was a relatively loosed personal unity rather than an organization formed by specific centripetal doctrine of ideology. Their path in literature was found in pure lyric poetry. Medium role and poetic achievements of Yi Hayoon became important criteria that Haewoimunhakpa remained their own traits in 1930s’ literary world. Haewoimunhakpa which claimed study and acception on foreign literature for Korean literature based on relatively obvious foreign language ability and consciousness of major was carried and absorbed to other media. Characters of these media got gathered to a pure lyric intention centered on poems. They showed aims of aestheticism beyond proletarian literature and nationalism came in 1930s’. At this time, Yi Hayoon conducted an important role. He kept an pure lyric intention consistently then in late period, he wrote poems similar to form of songs. The sense of loss and longing in basic lyricism were those contents. This retrospective taste was created from sense of identity on majors of foreign literature and reveled regressive path to pure lyric poems in the colonial era.
