dc.description.abstractThis study deals with the market trend analysis of major polysaccharide materials(chitosan, hyaluronic acid, chondroitin, ßglucan, fucoidan and glucosamine) in Japan. We analysed market trend in Japan in order to prospect the technology and market trend in Korea as Japan is a world leader in this field. Most of polysaccharides were used as an additive to health functional food, cosmetics or medical product. After analysed polysaccharide sales in Japan since 2003, we can find out polysaccharide market are increased gradually in spite of a decrease in chitosan(including its oligomer) sales. Especially, hyaluronic acid and chondroitin market are significantly increased with a demand for medical applications.en_US
