dc.description.abstractDiagonally reinforced concrete coupling beams (DRCB) play an important role in the coupled shear wall system since these members must dissipate most of input energy during earthquakes. For reliable seismic performance evaluation using nonlinear response history analyses, coupling beams should be accurately modeled. In this study, the Pinching 4 model is used as a base model to simulate the cyclic behavior of DRCBs. In this model, the constituent parameters for backbone curve, pinching and cyclic deterioration in strength and stiffness should be defined. To determine the proper values of the constituent parameters accurately and efficiently, this study proposes the empirical equations of the parameters. This study shows that the actual cyclic curves of 21 DRCB specimens are simulated with reasonably good accuracy suing the model and empirical equations used in this study.-
