- Abstract
- This study aimed at examining the influence of cultural tourism interpreter’s job characteristics on job satisfaction and continuance intention. The literature review covered the concepts, theories and previous research of cultural tourism interpreter’s job characteristics, and the relations among job characteristics, job satisfaction and continuance intention. Following this, a research model and research hypotheses were proposed, and the measuring variables for job characteristics(skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy, feedback) were constructed. The survey method was applied to this study, and analytical methods such as confirmatory factor analysis, and structure equation model analysis were utilized. The findings of the study revealed that task identity and feedback factors among those five job characteristics factors have significant influence on job satisfaction, and job satisfaction as an intervening variable has significant influence on continuance intention. In conclusion, this study expects that the study of job characteristics will contribute to the development of effective job design for tourism volunteer management.
