Among rest spaces of department stores, characteristics of arrangement of entrances, hallways, side of escalators, elevator halls, and powder rooms are analyzed to have the purpose of suggesting development plans. The results of analysis in this study are as follows: First, horizontal arrangement types of resting spaces in the department store are showed with complex types in most cases. Second, vertical arrangement types of rest spaces are a separated type and mixed type. Third, there are a variety of plan types compared to existing space. Particularly, rest spaces are placed to access conveniently such as elevators and escalators hall rather than independent rest space.
