관광지 주민의 혼잡지각이 감정과 대응행동에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 관광객들로 인한 혼잡지각에 따른 지역주민들의 감정과 대응행동 간의 관계에 대해 연구하는 것이다. 관광객 증가로 인한 혼잡지각이 관광지 주민들의 감정과 대응행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 분석을 통해 지역주민들과 관광객들 간의 관계를 효율적으로 대처할 수 있는 방안과 관광지 관리를 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 최근 국내외 관광객들이 급증하고 있는 서울 서촌지역의 주민들을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문지를 통해 조사하였다. 총 250매의 설문지를 배포하여 최종 선정된 232개의 유효 표본으로 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 인적 혼잡지각은 감정에 영향을 미치지 않는 반면 공간적 혼잡지각은 긍정적ㆍ부정적 감정에 영향을 미치고 긍정적ㆍ부정적 감정 모두 대응행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 혼잡지각과 대응행동 간의 관계에서 감정이 어떠한 역할을 하는지에 대해 규명하기 위해 매개회귀분석을 분석한 결과 인적 혼잡과 대응행동과의 관계에서 감정은 매개효과가 없는 것으로 나타났으나 공간적 혼잡과 대응행동 간의 관계에서 긍정적 감정과 부정적 감정 모두 부분매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 지역주민들은 관광객으로 인해 공간적 혼잡에 대한 부정적 감정이 증가하여 이를 극복하고자 시간적 회피, 장소 내 회피, 지역 외 회피, 및 활동대체와 같은 대응행동을 하는 것으로 나타남에 따라 지역주민들의 이동을 원활하게 할 수 있도록 공간적 혼잡에 대한 관리방안이 필요하다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of perceived crowding on emotion and coping behaviour in tourism destination from the residents’ point of view as a number of tourists have increased. For achieving the aim of the study, total 232 data was collected in the center of local in Seoul and analysed using SPSS 18. The multiple regression analysis and three-step mediated regression analysis were used for examining the hypotheses. The results of the analysis is that spatial crowding has a significant effect on positive and negative emotion and both positive and negative emotions affect coping behavior. Furthermore, spatial crowding affects coping behavior in negative way. In other words, spatial crowding from increasing tourists affects residents’ coping behavior by decreasing positive emotion and increasing negative emotion. Therefore, management toward spatial crowding would be needed for residents in tourism destination.
