There is a growing need for elderly housings in the future and public facilities are important spaces in elderly housings. So this study aims to find out proper public facilities and its proper operating hours and spaces in the elderly residents' perspective. This study has been conducted by surveying facilities usage pattern of elderly residents and their satisfaction rate. Through the research, the researchers suggest the followings as future directions for planning public facilities in elderly housings. 1) The proper operating hours for public facilities in elderly housings in weekdays are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for group 1 and group 2 and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for group 3 and group 4. In addition, for group 3 and group 4, it is better to combine 1 or 2 rooms. 2) Considering usage patterns of elderly residents in weekdays and weekends, pottery room, beauty saloon (barber shop and hair saloon), business room, skin care, cultivated greenery, and Karaoke3 are the facilities which can be used variably. Among these, 5 out of 6 elderly housings (over 83%) have a pottery room, however, considering the usage was 0% for both weekdays and weekends, it is allowed to remove a pottery room. 3) Tenants were most satisfied with the lobby (4.10%), the lounge (4.07%), the gym (3.77%), the sauna (3.75%), and the pool (3.37%). They were least satisfied with the hair salon/barbershop (0.00%), the crafts room (0.36%), the skin care facility (0.57%), the planting/orchid room (0.71%), and the business room (0.78%).en_US
