공공디자인을 활용한 디자인교육에 관한 연구-중학교 자유학기제를 중심으로-

Abstract

현 정부에서 추진되고 있는 중학교 ‘자유학기제’는 학생 들이 중학교 교육과정 중에서 한 학기는 시험 부담에서 벗어나 자신의 꿈과 끼를 찾을 수 있도록 진로탐색, 동 아리 활동, 예술·체육 프로그램 등 다양한 체험 활동이 가능하게 교육과정을 운영하는 제도이다. 이는 현 사회 의 관심에 발맞추어 학생들 개개인의 창의성, 인성, 사 회성 등을 고루 길러 줄 수 있는 교육 방안을 제시하는 데 그 목표가 있다. 본 연구에서는 공공을 위한 디자인을 올바르게 인식하 고 판단할 수 있는 실무 중심의 자유학기제 디자인교육 프로그램을 제시하여 중학교 학생들의 창의성, 인성, 사 회성을 고르게 발달시키고자 하였다. 앞으로도 학생들의 자유학기제 교육에 있어서 다양한 디자인교육 프로그램을 통해 실무적인 프로세스를 적용 한 수업프로그램을 통하여, 전문가가 되기 위해 필요한 역량들을 기를 수 있는 기회를 제공할 필요성이 있다. 특히, 자유학기제는 현재까지 진행되어온 학습의 관점과 수업방법의 혁신적인 변화를 요하는 새로운 수업 방안 이기 때문에 이를 연구하는 학자와 교사들, 학부모·학생 의 꾸준한 관심과 이를 뒷받침할 정책, 그리고 배려하는 자세가 필요하다. Free learning semester system that government is driving forward is a policy that middle school students can manage their school activities such as career exploration, participation in clubs, art and athletic programs and so on during one semester to explore their future and talent by escaping from their burdens of exams. According to recent social paradigm, this aims to propose an education method to cultivate student's sociality, creativity and personality in balance. In accordance with that, the purpose of this study is to evenly develop middle school students' creativity, personality and sociality by suggesting Free learning semester designing program focused on practice for the students to appreciate and identify the design for public in the right way. In education for Free learning semester system, the students need to be provided diverse education programs applied practical process via various design programs and opportunities to cultivate their ability to be professionals. Especially, it is unavoidable to create supporting policies, parents and students' interests and considerate attitude, because it is innovative process completely far from conventional focus on education and method.
