교사의 문화감응적 교수효능감에 대한 협력적 학교문화의 효과: 학부모 의사결정 참여의 조절효과

Abstract

At present, South Korea is expected to witness a continuous growth in the cultural diversity of its school age population. To assess whether teachers are prepared to address the growing cultural diversity in classrooms, it is necessary to examine their culturally responsive teaching efficacy. Recent research suggests that collaborative school culture can positively influence culturally responsive teaching efficacy by managing pedagogical uncertainty. However, collaboration within the school may be insufficient to address the causes of uncertainty that stem from cultural diversity outside the school. This research focused on the possibility that parental decision making participation, through collaboration with local communities as sources of cultural diversity, could enhance the effect of collaborative school culture on culturally responsive teaching efficacy. Analyzing data from elementary and middle school teachers who have taught culturally diverse classrooms in the past year using TALIS 2018, the result indicates that teachers in schools with a collaborative culture show significantly higher culturally responsive teaching efficacy. Moreover, parental decision making participation has been found to amplify these effects, highlighting the importance of participation in decision making. The result of this study on parental decision making participation, which has received less attention compared to other types of parental participation, indicates the importance of parental decision making involvement and suggests the need for further research in this area.|현재 한국은 학령인구의 문화적 다양성이 지속해서 증가할 것으로 예상되는 상황이다. 이러한 상황에서 교사들이 학급의 증가하는 문화적 다양성에 대처 할 준비가 되어있는지 확인하기 위해서는 문화감응적 교수효능감을 살펴볼 필 요가 있다. 교사 간 협력이 교수 불확실성 관리를 통해 문화감응적 교수효능 감을 개선할 수 있다는 최근의 연구 결과로 미루어 보았을 때 협력적 학교문 화는 문화감응적 교수효능감에 긍정적으로 작용할 것으로 여겨진다. 하지만 문화감응적 교수효능감의 개선을 위해 대처해야 하는 불확실성의 원인은 학교 밖에서 유래한 문화적 다양성이기에 학교 내부에서의 협력만으로는 불충분할 가능성이 있다. 이 연구는 이러한 점에 주목하여 학부모 의사결정 참여가 문 화적 다양성의 출처인 지역사회와의 협력을 통해 문화감응적 교수효능감에 대 한 협력적 학교문화의 효과를 증폭시킬 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. TALIS 2018 초등학교 교사와 중학교 교사 데이터를 활용하여 지난 1년 내 문화적으로 다 양한 학급을 가르친 경험이 있는 교사들의 응답 자료를 분석한 결과 협력적 학교문화를 가진 학교일수록 교사의 문화감응적 교수효능감이 유의미하게 높 았으며 학부모 의사결정 참여가 이러한 효과를 증폭시킬 가능성이 확인되었 다. 다른 참여 유형에 비해 주목받지 못하던 학부모 의사결정 참여에 관한 이 연구의 분석결과는 학부모 의사결정 참여의 중요성과 후속 연구 필요성을 시 사한다.
