부모의 알코올의존이 대학생의 공동의존에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 부모의 알코올의존이 대학생의 공동의존에 미치는 영향을 살펴보 고, 부모화와 자기자비의 단순 매개효과와 순차 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목 적으로 하였다. 연구를 위해 전국의 만18세에서 29세의 대학생 435명을 대상 으로 알코올의존 가정 자녀 선별검사, 부모화 척도, 공동의존 척도, 자기자비 척도를 사용하여 자기보고식 설문을 실시하였고, 이들 중 알코올의존 가정의 자녀로 선별된 198명의 자료를 최종 회기분석에서 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Statistic 26.0 및 SPSS PROCESS macro 4.1을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모가 알코올의존인 대학생 집단과 비알코올의존인 대학생 집단간 공동의존 차이가 유의하였다. 둘째, 부모의 알코올의존과 대학생의 공동의존, 부모화, 자기자비 모두 상호간 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부 모의 알코올의존과 대학생의 공동의존 관계에서 부모화의 완전 매개효과가 확 인되었다. 넷째, 부모의 알코올의존과 대학생의 공동의존 관계에서 자기자비의 완전 매개효과가 확인되었다. 다섯째, 부모의 알코올의존과 대학생의 공동의존 관계에서 부모화와 자기자비의 순차 매개효과가 확인되었다. 즉, 알코올의존 가정에서 자녀는 가족을 위해 희생하는 역할의 부모화가 높아지고, 스스로의 어려움을 자비롭게 대하는 경험 부족으로 자기자비가 낮아지며, 자기의 정체 성을 찾으려 외부초점과 의존성이 높은 공동의존이 나타난다고 보았다. 이와 같은 결과는 부모화를 줄이고 자기자비적 태도를 함양시키는 상담적 개입이 공동의존을 감소시킬 수 있을 것으로 시사된다. 본 연구의 의의는 부모의 알코올의존으로 인해 대학생의 공동의존이 발생하 는 과정을 구체화하였으며, 부모의 알코올의존과 공동의존으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 대학생에게 효과적인 상담적 개입방안을 모색하는 근거자료를 제시하였 다는 데 있다.|This study aimed to examine the influence of parental alcoholism on co-dependency among college students, and to verify the simple and sequential mediating effects of parentification and self-compassion. For the study, a self-report survey was conducted on 435 college students aged 18 to 29 nationwide, using the Children of Alcoholics Screening Test, Parentification Scale, Co-dependency Scale, and Self-compassion Scale. Among them, data from 198 individuals identified as children of alcoholism parents were used in the final regression analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 26.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro 4.1. The summarized results of this study are as follows: First, there was a significant difference in co-dependency between college students with parents who had alcoholism and those without. Second, significant correlations were found among parental alcoholism, co-dependency among college students, parentification, and self-compassion. Third, in the relationship between parental alcoholism and co-dependency among college students, a complete mediating effect of parentification was confirmed. Fourth, in the relationship between parental alcoholism and co-dependency among college students, a complete mediating effect of self-compassion was confirmed. Fifth, in the relationship between parental alcoholism and co-dependency among college students, sequential mediating effects of parentifiction and self-compassion were confirmed. That is, in families with alcoholism, children tend to engage in parentification roles sacrificing for the family, and leading to lower self-compassion since the lack of experience in treating their own difficulties with compassion. This, in turn, results in co-dependency which manifests itself in dependency and a high external focus for seeking identity. These results suggest that counseling interventions aimed at reducing parentification and fostering self-compassionate attitudes may decrease co-dependency in college students experiencing difficulties due to parental alcoholism. The significance of this study lies in providing concrete evidence of the process by which parental alcoholism leads to co-dependency in college students and offering a basis for effective counseling interventions for those struggling with both parental alcoholism and co-dependency.
