dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to provide information about increasing the performance and selecting golf balls to golf players by examining the differences in muscle activity and performance of 8 golf players who are joined in Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association(KLPGA) according to the change of golf ball color. The wireless EMG system was used to measure the action potential of muscle which appears during golf swing, and automatically stored through real-time signal transformation with program and video simulaneous measurement. 8 agonistic muscles which are mainly used during golf swing were selected, and %RVC was measured by setting the address position as standard contract during swing. TrackMan which is currently in use in USGA, R&A and number of golf company and also a product that provides information like speed and position of a moving object by using the Doppler effect and the results of performance data were automatically stored. Paired t-test was conducted by using SPSS 21.0 version with the results which measured in order to find out the differences in muscle activity and performance according to the change of golf ball color, and the significant level was p<.05. The following results were obtained through study method and procedure above. First, there is no differences in muscle activity of golf players according to change of golf ball color. Second, there is no differences in performance of golf players according to change of golf ball color. According to results, there was no significant results in muscle activity and performance during golf swing when different color ball was used. Thus, using color golf balls depends on player’s individual preferences during tournaments will not affect in golf performance. However, because the subjects for this study was limited to KLPGA golf players, it is difficult to provide clear information whether there are any differences for amateur athletes and public. And, because the ball color was chosen by player’s favorite color, it also difficult to mention about the differences of different color ball. Therefore, the expansion of subject and type of color is expected to be include in future study.-
