- Abstract
- The research is performed to define the difference of morphological features according to the physical state of athletes who show dissimilar performance in games, and to state the morphological features of excellent players. Measurement was made to 107 subjects who are all squash athletes, and the categories include differences of height, weight, hypodermic fat thickness, girth, width, and length. Also, human body measurement index was used to estimate the amount of body fat, muscle mass, bone mass, proportions of waist and hip, and the volume index. The collected data of technical statistics was used to define the morphological features of excellent athletes, and one-way ANOVA was used to prove that the difference of morphological features is due to the performance in games. The result of the research is as follows:First, there was significant difference in hypodermic fat thickness and height according to different performance of squash players at the level of p<.05. In particular, excellent players showed better height, and low hypodermic fat thickness compared to ordinary players. Second, there was significant difference statistically in foot length according to the level of performance at p<.05. Third, there was significant difference statistically in the upper arm bone and waist according to different level of performance at p<.05. Fourth, there was significant difference statistically in the front thigh, legs, shank bone at p<.05. However, excellent players showed longer physical length overall compared to ordinary players. Fifth, there was significant difference statistically in the percentage of body fat and BMI according to different level of performance at p<.05. In particular, excellent players showed lower body fat percentage, BMI, and WHR compared to ordinary players, but the muscle mass and bone mass was higher than ordinary players.
