안전디자인 구축을 위한 기반 조사-서울의 지하철역 분석을 중심으로-

Abstract

재난, 안전 디자인에 대한 관심이 고조됨에 따라이와 관련한 많은 디자인 시도와 결과들이 가시적으로 나타나며 생활의 한 부분으로 자리 잡고 있는 가운데 우리나라에서는 기본적으로는 안전디자인에 대한 이해도 부족하며 모호한 실효성으로 인한 기준과관리 시스템 운영기반이 부재한 상황이다.

안전디자인이란 제품․시설․공간 등에 설계․제조․건축․운영 등의 형태로 적용되어 주기능의 ‘안전’ 달성도를 높이고, 타 기능과의 상승적 융합을 통해 사회 안전 수준을 향상시키는 것이다.

본 연구는 지금까지의 국내외 관련 학위논문, 보고서, 통계자료 등의 문헌연구에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 안전디자인 개념과 구성요소, 안전디자인의 범위에대해 살펴보았다. 또한 서울시 지하철역의 안전디자인의 적용 사례를 분석하여 본 연구가 안전디자인의 확립에 도움이 되는 기초연구로서 활용이 되고자 했다.

연구결과로는 9호선 고속버스터미널역과 1호선 서울역의 지하철 출입구, 수직이동공간(경사로와 계단,에스컬레이터, 엘리베이터) 승강장의 안전디자인을 분석한 결과 시각정보전달 방해, 장애인 안내표시 및 적당하지 못한 유효폭 등으로 엘리베이터 사용상의 문제, 에스컬레이터의 비상정지용 버튼의 사용상의 문제점 등이 나타났으며 제품, 시설 공간 등 디자인될 수있는 모든 것들이 안전디자인에 포함되어 단순히 외형상의 안전을 추구하는 것을 넘어 제품과 시설을 사용하는데 있어서 안전함을 제공해야하며, 공간 또한사람들에게 위협적이지 않고 사고를 미연에 방지할수 있도록 설계되고 운영되어야 함을 알 수 있었다.;As an interest in the disaster and safe design rises, many of trials on the design targeting on them and the results are tangibly indicated and rooted in a part of lifestyle. Hereupon, in Korea, it is currently with insufficient understanding on the safe design in general and lacks of operation system for management and criteria due to obscure aspects in terms of effectiveness. Safety is basically regarded as the most important element in the field of safe design related to life safety of citizens. However, innate elements of the design also have to be considered. In other words, safe design is featured to contain innate characteristics of industrial design and safety engineering aspects at the same time. Therefore, safe design is applied in the form of design, manufacture, construction, and management on the products, facilities, and spaces that enhance achievement level of ‘safety’ on the major function and increases social safety level via synergic integration with other functions. This study dealt with a concept, components, and a scope of safe design via theoretical consideration of relevant dissertations in Korea or overseas, reports, and statistical data that have been published as of now throughout documentary research. In addition, an analysis of real cases, analysis of safe design at Seoul metro station applied on the safe design for this study to be exploited as a basic research supportive for establishment of safe design. As the safety design of entrance, vertical movement space(stairs and slope, escalator, elevator) and platform of subway Line 1 Seoul Station and Route 9 Express Bus Terminal Station are analyzed, the problems are unsuitable visual information system, signs for disabled person, problem of using elevator and use of the emergency stop button on the escalator. Products, facilities, space, and all the things that can be designed should be included in safety design. The safety in the use of products and facilities is more important than to persue the safety of mere appearance. Space should be designed and operated to prevent accidents.
