조선시대 조각보문양을 활용한 홈 인테리어 제품디자인 연구

Abstract

사회적 현상으로서의 현대 텍스타일디자인은 자연회귀현상, 옛것에 대한 향수의 영향으로 자연적인 모티브와 과거 전통적인 모티브가 두각을 나타내고 있는 추세이며, 과거의 장식양식의 이해가 곧 새로운 패턴디자인의 발견으로 이어지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 실용적 디자인과 추상적 아름다움을 중시하였던 조선시대 조각보에 나타난 전통적인 문양을 고찰하고, 현대 감각에 맞는 모던한 기하학 패턴을 개발하여 한국 섬유산업 육성에 기여할 수 있는 홈 인테리어 제품디자인을 개발하는데 연구 목적을 두고 있다. 연구내용은 조선시대 조각보의 개념과 전통 문화재적 의의를 고찰하였으며, 조각보에 나타난 문양의 특징 및 현재 조각보문양이 적용된 제품사례를 분석하였다. 연구 범위는 기하학적 조형성이 가장 잘 나타난 조선시대의 후기 한국조각보로 한정하였다. 연구방법으로는 실존 유물에 나타난 조선시대 조각보의 문양을 분석하여 모티브로 추출하여 응용하였다. 모티브제작과 반복패턴제작 시 텍스타일 전용프로그램인 SPD(Surface Pattern Design)를 사용하여 조선시대 조각보 문양 구성을 좀 더 현대적으로 디자인화 하였다. 또한 2012 SS 트렌드 컬러를 적용하여 최신유행 컬러와 조각보 고유의 전통적 컬러를 믹스매치 하여 폭넓고 섬세한 컬러이미지를 연출시켰다. 이러한 다양한 컬러 연출과 실제 제품적용 효과를 시뮬레이션 하기 위하여 어도비 일러스트(Adobe Illustrator CS3)및 포토샵(Photoshop CS3)을 활용하였고, 이러한 연구방법으로 용도별 홈 인테리어 제품디자인을 제시하였다. 그 결과를 다음과 같이 도출하였다. 첫째, 조각보에 나타난 방사형의 사각형문양과 전통 와당문양을 응용하여 단순하고 모던한 감각의 침구용제품디자인을 제작할 수 있었다. 2012 컬러트렌드 인포카마이유(Faux Camaieu) 배색을 적용하여 부드럽고 세련된 컬러와 기하학적패턴을 통해 세련미와 고전미를 동시에 표현하고자 하였다. 둘째, 소파커버링을 위한 홈 인테리어 제품디자인은 삼각형 조각보문양 고유의 직선적 조형미를 살리면서 최신 트렌드인 클린 캔디컬러를 사용, 조각보의 오방색을 더 선명하고 맑은 분위기로 연출 하였다. 셋째, 조선시대 조각 보문양을 이용하여 제작된 홈 인테리어 벽지 제품디자인은 조각보에 나타난 원형 여의주문양의 부드러운 곡선과 현대적 기하학 도트패턴을 겹치기 기법으로 활용하였다. 조각보 고유의 컬러를 포카마이유 배색으로 자연스럽게 연결시켜 여성스러운 이미지를 강조함으로써, 젊은 감성에 어울리는 홈 인테리어용 벽지 제품디자인을 제시하였다. 넷째, 커튼을 위한 홈 인테리어용 제품디자인은 조각보의 불규칙적 기하학문양을바탕으로 오방색의 강한컬러를 중채도로 적용하고, 비슷한 채도와 명도의 포카마이유 배색으로 고전적이면서도 현대적 감성이 느껴지는 디자인을 제시하였다. 소재는 스웨이드를 사용함으로써 편안하고 실용적인 홈 인테리어용 커튼을 제작하였다. 따라서 실용적이고 창의적인 특징이 있는 조선시대조각보는 현대적 응용기법에 적용ㆍ개발하기에 적합한 모티브로 제시되었다. 또한, 보다 간편하고 효율적인 디지털 기술을 이용하여 과거 디자인 작업의 한계에서 벗어나 현대적 감각에 맞춰 형태나 트렌드컬러를 표현함으로써 독창적이고도 실용적인 이미지를 나타내었다. 이상의 결과로 조선시대 조각보의 문양은 현대 텍스타일 제품디자인에 이르기까지 사용범위가 실로 무한하며, 현대 텍스타일 제품디자인의 고부가가치의 창출을 기대할 수 있는 중요한 디자인 요소임을 확인할 수 있었다. 더불어 본 연구를 바탕으로 조선시대 조각보문양을 활용한 홈 인테리어 제품디자인 개발이 폭넓게 이루어져 고부가가치 한국 텍스타일 산업의 경쟁력 강화에 일조할 수 있을 것을 기대한다.;Natural and traditional patterns oriented designs are becoming more popular in modern textile design as a social phenomenon which more people miss the old and nature. Understanding designs and patterns from the past is also helping people to discover new pattern designs. Thus, in this study, we``ll analyze traditional patterns that are shown in Jogakbo, Korean traditional patchwork, which emphasized practical designs along with abstract beauty. The object of the study is to develop modern and geometric designs through the analysis that can be applied to home interior designs and contribute to fostering Korea textile industry. We first considered the concepts of Jogakbo in the Joseon Dynasty and its meanings as traditional cultural assets. Characteristics of patterns on Jogakbo and current use of the pattern in modern products are also analyzed. As a method of research, we analyzed Jogakbo`s patterns on existent antiquities and applied the patterns after extracting them as motives. Surface Pattern Design (SPD), am exclusive textile program, was used for making motive and repeated patterns and designing the patterns in a modernization way. The trendy colors of the 2012 Spring Summer seasons were also used for mixing up with traditional colors to make designs more detailed and vivid. In order to display various colors and see simulated products with the designs are applied, Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Photoshop CS3 were used. Through the methods, interior design products are suggested for each use. The results are as follows: First, the square patterns and traditional Wadang patterns on Jogakbo could be applied to bedding products with simple and modern designs. Refined and classical beauty was expressed through smooth and elegant colors along with geometric patterns using Faux Camaieu colors that are one of the color trends in 2012. Second, clean candy colors, one of the newest trends are used for sofa covering products with using patterns on triangle Jogakbo. The Obang colors that are traditional Korean colors on Jogakbo became clearer and more vivid with the new designs. Third, circle patterns and modern geometric dot patterns on jogakbo are used in designing home interior wallpapers. It is especially suitable for young sensibility as traditional colors of Jogakbo were naturally related with Faux Camaieu colors to emphasize feminine images. Fourth, for interior products of curtains, geometric patterns of Jogakbo were used as a background and the Obang colors are applied with middle chroma. Faux Camaieu colors were used with similar chroma and brightness to make modern and classical designs. Suede was used as materials to make comfortable and practical home curtains. Therefore, Jogakbo from the Joseon Dynasty can be practical and creative objects to be developed for modern designs. Thanks to handy and efficient digital technologies, patterns of Jogakbo can be advanced to modern types or trendy colors to make practical and exclusive images. In conclusion, patterns on Jogakbo from the Joseon Dynasty can be used in a number of ways including modern textile product designs. It is an important design factor in modern textile product designs that can create high value products. Moreover, it is expected that this study would contribute to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean textile industry by developing home interior designs using Jogakbo`s patterns from the Joseon Dynasty.
