텍스타일 제품에 나타난 리디자인 사례연구

Abstract

한정된 자원을 보호하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 리디자인에 대한 의식들이 생기면서 디자인관련 산업에서 리디자인을 위한 연구와 이를 적용하는 브랜드들이 나타나고 있기에 텍스타일 제품에 나타난 리디자인 사례를 통하여 리디자인에 대한 활성화 방안을 연구해 보았다. 텍스타일 제품 산업에서 주로 사용되는 리디자인으로는 리사이클, 리유즈, 리듀스디자인을 들 수 있다.

첫째, 리사이클디자인에 있어서 가장 주목받고 있는 텍스타일 소재는 페트병을 재활용한 재생폴리에스터섬유의 활용이다. 이러한 텍스타일 리디자인은 화학물질을 재활용할 수 있는 기술을 개발하고 발전시켜 페트병 이외의 다양한 물질을 원단으로 만들 수 있도록 하면 리디자인 활성화와 보편화에 일조하게 될 것이다.

둘째, 리유즈디자인이 있다. 가장 손쉽게 리디자인 할 수 있는 방법이기에 현수막, 포장용 비닐, 버려진 슬리퍼, 낙하산, 자전거 타이어 등 다양한 텍스타일 소재에 참신한 아이디어를 접목하여 제품의 가치를 높인 리디자인 사례가 많다. 셋째, 리듀스디자인은 디자인을 통해 생태적 효율성을 지키고자 하는 의지를 반영하는 것이다. 주로 유행을 타지 않는 단순한 디자인을 바탕으로 하였으며, 텍스타일 소재로서는 고가의 텍스타일 소재와 순도 높은 품질을 바탕으로 한 리디자인 제품이 많다. 특히 질 좋은 가죽의 활용을 통하여 내구성과 지속성을 확보하고자 하였다. 국내는 리디자인이 비교적 보편화된 국외 사례에 비하여, 리디자인 개발을 위한 초석을 다지기 시작한 시점이라 할 수 있다. 리디자인은 지속가능성을 실천하는 방법으로, 디자이너들이 가장 빈번히 다양한 방법으로 활용하고 있는 디자인이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 텍스타일 디자인 제품 산업에서 리디자인을 실행하고 있는 앞선 사례를 연구함으로써, 향후 텍스타일 디자인 제품의 상품 기획 및 관련연구의 리디자인 적용에 있어서 중요한 참고 자료와 디자인 개발의 소스로 활용되기를 기대한다.;The textile products industry goes through the process of production and consumption of many products due to the characteristic of fashion. Various environmental pollutants are being produced in each industrial stage of the process, but there is little effort for proper reuse of the materials. At such a point of time, the recognition of re-design developed as part of an effort to protect limited resources, and there appear researches on re-design in design-related industry as well as the brands applying them. The kinds of re-design often used in Textile Products industry are recycle, reuse, and reduce designs. Firstly, the representative method of re-design is ‘recycle design’. It is a design made to recycle resources and it is a way of re-design used the most frequently nowadays. Secondly, there is ‘reuse design’ which is made to use a product once again. While recycling is using a material again by making a new material through chemical modification, reuse is a method of design which uses a material once again without chemical modification. Thirdly, ‘reduce design’ is a design used for reduction. It reflects the will to protect ecological efficiency through design. Like this, there are various application methods of re-design, which is the most frequently used by designers to achieve sustainability. In order for such a re-design to be used for more effective environmental protection saving energy beyond the mere recycling of energy, the advanced examples which are carrying out re-design in the textile products industry will have to be studied. It is expected that this study can be used as an important reference material and source of design development in the product planning of textile products in the future and the application of re-design in related researches.
