사야카[沙也可] 시가에 나타난 유학사상 용례

Abstract

임진왜란 때 침공해 온 일본군 중에서 가토 기요마사[加藤清正]군에서 조선군에 투항한 왜장 사야카[沙也可]는 전공에 의해 김충선金忠善이라는 이름과 ‘정헌대부’라는 고위 직계를 하사 받았다. 사야카는 66세까지 전선에 나섰고, 평시 유학을 수학하여 많은 저술과 시문을 남겼다. 따라서 사야카의 유문 중에는 유학적 용례가 많다. 그 중 『모하당문집慕夏堂文集』의 시문에 5편의 단시와 <술회가述懐歌>라는 장편 서사시가 있는데, 본고에서는 이와 같은 사야가의 시문을 통해 그 유학적 사고를 파악하고자 한다.

그러나 거기서 유학적 용례가 나타나는 것은 <술회가>뿐이다. 이 <술회가> 시문 232행 중 41행에서 유학적 용례를 찾아볼 수 있다. 이 중 『모하당문집』의 편집자 김한조金漢祚와 개정자 이가순李家淳에 의해 문식된 흔적이 짙은 14행을 제외한다면, 사야카의 독자적 사고를 보여주는 ‘의義’ 관련 용례는 ‘춘추대의春秋大義’‧‘진력우왕민盡力于王民’‧‘의백충혼義魄忠魂’ 등에서 나타나며, 투항 직후의 시점에 있어 신하의 충의를 나타내는 ‘의’로부터 후년에는 점차 국가‧사회‧민民에게 몸을 바치는 광의의 ‘의’라는 사고방식으로 발전되었다고 할 수 있다.;When the Chosun Kingdom was invaded by the Japanese army, Chosun and Myung army was surrendered by Sayaka from the troop of Kiyomasa Kato. He was commissioned as a commander with the name of ‘Kim, Chungson’ and the title of high classed ‘Chung-hun-dae-bu’ by his distinguished services.

In this paper, his name is used as Sayaka which is able to be recognized by Japanese.

Until he became 66 years old, he went to the battle field. But he studied Confucian ideas, writing letters and poems during the peace time. Accordingly Confucian ideas are quoted in his writings frequently. According to his poems in Mohadang collection, five short poems and a long poem, ‘Sul-fe-ga’ as an epic were left.

In the theme of this paper, Confucian examples are found only in ‘Sul-fe-ga’. Among of the 232 verses in ‘Sul-fe-ga’ the 41 verses of Confucian examples clearly can be seen. Among them, the 14 verses which were influenced by the editer, Kim-Hanjo and the reviser, Lee-gasun probably can be seen.

‘Ui’ in connection with Confucian examples is indicated to Sayaka original idea ; watching the phrases of “Chun-chu-dae-ui”, “Jin-ryok-u-wang-min”, “Ui-baek-chung-hon”, at the point of going over the sea the loyalty of the subject can be seen in “Ui” thought of Sayaka; later gradually, perhaps, “Ui” thought of Sayaka in a broad sense had been developed.
